Consulting role for the development of the Protected Area of Islands of Bahia, Honduras
The Honduras Government is developing an Environmental Management Programme for the Islands of Bahia, a series of islands on the Atlantic coast of high ecological value. The objective is to improve the standard of living on the islands based on the concept of sustainable development with a particular emphasis on the tourist sector. With the support of the Inter-American Development Bank the aim is to encourage and ensure local participation in planning and running of local natural resources whilst improving the quality of life.
